Altadena Photographers was founded by Gayle Nicholls-Ali, joined by supporters and organizations seeking to support, rebuild and restore. (Camera/Editor-Ken Kerbs)

Gayle Nicholls-Ali Fine arts photographer and arts educator who taught photography for over 20 years—at the Armory Center for the Arts and La Cañada High School. She lost her prized collection of antique film cameras she used to create her work.

Rachel Murillo-Fogel is a Photographer, Artist, Educator. “I love the sound ‘cha chunk’ made by my Mamiya RB Mr T.”

Rohan Ali is a documentary filmmaker and freelance videographer based in Los Angeles, California. He is a graduate of Columbia College Hollywood with a B.F.A. in Cinema with an emphasis in Directing. He is co-owner of Förstora Media, a digital production company that produces music videos, documentaries on world music and promotional videos for DJ’s from around the world. As a Director of Photography, he has worked on music videos, short length films, and promotional DJ videos.

Aaron Morefield is a software engineer, web developer, and creative collaborator with a broad base of interdisciplinary experience. Strong backgrounds in physics, computer programming, music, education, and leadership.

Rebecca Macko is an accomplished executive and board-level advisor with more than 25 years of experience leading people strategy, culture transformation, and organizational development across mission-driven environments. Most recently, she served as Chief Human Resources Officer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), managed by Caltech, where she strengthened leadership and organizational culture for more than 6,500 employees. She previously held senior HR leadership roles with The Walt Disney Company and Allergan, building strong teams and advancing collaboration across global operations.

Becky actively volunteers with United Way of Greater Los Angeles, 24LA, and Frontline Relief.

As an Eaton Fire survivor, Becky and her family lost their home, cars, possessions, and cherished family heirlooms in the devastating January 2025 fire. Through that experience, she is passionate about community rebuilding, mental health, and supporting others in times of transition and loss.

Altadena Photographers is sponsoring the High School Scholarship for Eaton Fire Survivors to support graduating seniors impacted by the Eaton Fire who may be pursuing careers in the arts at a college or trade school with an interest in visual art, including photography.

We believe in the power of creativity to heal and rebuild, and this scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to the next generation of visual storytellers and makers.

Please submit your application, teacher recommendation, and a three-piece portfolio to be considered for this award. The award is $250.00
